Component-Level Logic Board Repair

We Repair the Logic Board Instead of Automatically Replacing It

Many Mac failures are caused by one failed component, damaged circuit, charging fault, corrosion, power-rail problem or another localized issue on the logic board. In those cases, replacing the entire logic board may be unnecessary and can be significantly more expensive.

We perform component-level logic-board diagnosis and repair whenever practical. That means we identify the failed area and repair or replace the defective component rather than automatically replacing the complete board.

Lower Cost Where Practical

Component-level repair can avoid the cost of replacing an otherwise repairable logic board.

Preserve the Original Board

When the original board can be repaired, keeping it in the computer may also help preserve the original storage relationship and system configuration.

Important for Data

On many newer Macs, storage is integrated with or tied closely to the logic board. Replacing the complete board can mean the original data is no longer accessible through the replacement board.

Data Recovery as a Priority

If your Mac contains important data and you do not have a current backup, tell us before repair begins so we can assess the case with data preservation and recovery in mind.

Why Whole Logic Board Replacement Can Affect Data

Your Data May Be Tied to the Original Logic Board

On many modern Mac computers, storage is soldered to the logic board or otherwise closely integrated with the original hardware. If the entire logic board is replaced, the replacement board does not contain the data stored on the original board.

This is one reason we first consider component-level repair when it is practical. Repairing the original board may allow the Mac to work again while keeping the original storage and data relationship intact.

Data preservation can never be guaranteed, and any failing Mac can already have damaged or inaccessible data. If your files are important, tell us before diagnosis or repair begins.

Important Data Notice

Customers remain responsible for maintaining current backups whenever possible. Repair and diagnostic work can involve a risk of data loss.

Liquid Damage & No-Power Macs

Repair and Data Recovery Can Work Together

We regularly diagnose Macs that will not power on, have liquid damage, charging faults or logic-board problems. When important data is involved, the repair strategy can be adjusted so that data recovery becomes the priority.

Our data recovery work includes MacBook, iMac, Mac mini and other Mac computers that are non-working, liquid damaged or will not power on.
