MacBook & iMac Repair Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about MacBook, iMac and other Mac computer repairs, data recovery, estimates, appointments, warranty, mail-in service and our component-level repair approach.

Do you provide a free estimate?

Yes. We provide a free estimate before proceeding with repair. We diagnose the problem and explain the repair options so you can decide whether you want to proceed.

What does No Fix No Fee mean?

If we cannot repair the issue, you are not charged repair labour for an unsuccessful repair attempt under our No Fix No Fee policy. Separately authorized services, parts, shipping or data-recovery work may have their own charges.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Local Edmonton service is by appointment only — no walk-ins. Please contact us before coming so we can discuss your Mac model, the problem, likely parts availability and expected turnaround.

What Mac computers do you repair?

We specialize in MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Neo, iMac, iMac Pro, Mac mini, Mac Pro and Mac Studio.

Do you repair logic boards at the component level?

Yes. When practical, we diagnose and repair the failed circuit or component on the original logic board rather than automatically replacing the entire board.

Why repair the original logic board instead of replacing it?

Many faults are caused by one failed component, corrosion, charging circuitry, power-rail problems or another localized failure. Component-level repair can avoid unnecessary whole-board replacement and may reduce repair cost.

On many modern Macs, storage is integrated with or closely tied to the original logic board. Replacing the whole board can also mean the replacement board does not contain the data stored on the original board.

Can you recover data from a Mac that will not turn on?

Yes. We can recover data from Mac computers that are not working, will not power on, or have suffered liquid damage. This includes MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Neo, iMac, iMac Pro, Mac mini, Mac Pro and Mac Studio systems.

When necessary, component-level logic board diagnosis and repair may be used to restore access to the original data. If the data is more important than repairing the computer for normal use, tell us before work begins so the case can be handled with data recovery as the priority.

Are you responsible for customer data during repair?

Customers are responsible for maintaining a current backup whenever possible. Repair and diagnostic work can involve a risk of data loss, and data preservation cannot be guaranteed.

Please review our Customer Data & Data-Loss Disclaimer before submitting equipment for service.

Do you repair liquid-damaged Macs?

Yes. Liquid-damage service can include inspection, corrosion treatment, ultrasonic cleaning where appropriate, component-level repair and final functional testing.

How long does a typical repair take?

Many repairs are completed within 24–48 hours, depending on the fault, required parts and workload. Complex logic-board or data-recovery cases may take longer.

Do you keep parts in stock?

We keep many common Mac repair parts in stock, including frequently requested screens, batteries and other components. Availability depends on the exact Mac model.

Do you repair charging problems?

Yes. Charging problems can be caused by the charger, charging port, battery, USB-C circuitry or logic board. For a charging issue, please bring or send the charger so the complete charging system can be tested.

Do you repair Macs that will not power on?

Yes. No-power diagnosis is one of our core services. We troubleshoot power rails, charging circuits, liquid damage, failed components and other logic-board faults at the component level when practical.

Do you work on software and macOS problems?

Yes. We troubleshoot macOS startup problems, upgrades, application issues, user-account problems, storage issues, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problems, and other Mac software concerns.

Do you offer warranty on repairs?

Repair work generally includes a three-month warranty on the issue we repaired, subject to our Warranty & Repair Policies. It does not cover unrelated failures, accidental damage, liquid damage or other excluded conditions.

Do you offer mail-in repair?

Yes. We provide Canada-wide mail-in repair for supported Mac computers. Please review the mail-in instructions before shipping your computer.

Can I mail an iMac?

No. Because of the size, weight and shipping risk, we do not accept iMacs through the standard mail-in repair program.

Should I send only the logic board?

No. Please send the complete supported Mac computer rather than only the logic board. Full-system testing is important for diagnosis and final verification.

Do you support schools and organizations?

Yes. We provide Mac support for organizations, schools, educational institutions, corporate offices and enterprise environments. We are working with many schools and can assist with hardware repair, macOS support, deployments, data recovery and on-demand IT support.

Do organizations need a monthly IT contract?

No. Our Managed IT services can be provided on an on-demand basis. Organizations can contact us for incidents, projects, deployments, repairs, macOS support and other technical assistance without a mandatory monthly managed-services contract.

How do I get started?
